MISSION
VAS is a non-profit organization which utilizes the skill,
knowledge and education of volunteers
(55 and older) to help other seniors in
understanding and pursuing their entitlements.

ABOUT
US
HISTORY
VAS was created in
1977 as part of a nationwide effort by the Junior League to provide information
on insurance alternatives for senior community members, and to demonstrate that
elderly residents of the community can be a resource for solving problems.
In 1980, VAS was
incorporated as a private, non-profit corporation and became recognized by the
Internal Revenue Service as an organization with 501 (c) (3) status.
FUNDING
VAS
receives funding through individuals, foundations and corporations.
VAS also maintains two contracts; one with the Nebraska Department of
Insurance to provide insurance counseling and assistance, and the other is with
the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging.
